What this blog is about:

My journey to making Jesus my Pearl; turning away from the thinking of this world and finding my identity and joy in Christ alone.

Matthew 13:44-46

"The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field."

"Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it."

Posts and Resources addressing Biblical Courtship

The following are refreshing posts on the idea of "courtship" and avoiding the dating game. It's so inspiring to see young women that are so strongly pursuing purity and trusting God to bring them a husband.

"The Contemplations of Courtney: Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for him..."
Courtney's follow up post on courtship

Feelin Feminine; Miss Jocelyn's post titled: "You don't have a boyfriend?"

A couple books I want to read & use when raising up my little girls:

Raising Maidens of Virtue: A Study of Feminine Loveliness for Mothers and Daughters
by Stacy McDonald
"Before you meet Prince Charming" by Sarah Mally

  1. Imagine...I have two little boys. If I raise them to be godly young men who don't do traditional 'dating' and other women raise their girls to be godly young women who don't do traditional dating either --- imagine the possibilities! I need to now begin praying for my sons' wives. Whoever God may have for them. Crazy as it may seem, hubby and I have lightly kicked around the idea of arranged marriages, even. After all, the divorce rate is already 50%...we can't do much worse!

  2. I love Raising Maidens of Virtue, my (then) Fiance gave it to me to read right before I left to prepare for our wedding. I read it on the plane and it really touched my heart and has helped me make a lot of changes in my life.

My husband and I also courted, and it was the most wonderful time ever. God is SO good!

    Blessings,
    Laura
