What this blog is about:

My journey to making Jesus my Pearl; turning away from the thinking of this world and finding my identity and joy in Christ alone.

Matthew 13:44-46

"The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field."

"Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it."

Helping the churches of Haiti

I am so saddened to see the devastation in Haiti. People are now becoming more familiar with the poverty of Haiti due to the catastrophic earthquake. I grew up being aware of the conditions of Haitian life. My grandparents were missionaries for many years in the country of Haiti. My grandmother talked of having a long line of children at her door every day waiting for the peanut butter and jelly sandwich she would make them to help sustain them... for some their only meal. I have always wanted to some day visit Haiti and see the people my grandparents loved and get a true feel for what life was like in Haiti. Seeing the photos of the Haitian people now amidst such increased devastation from the earthquake breaks my heart.

For those that are burdened for the Haitian people I wanted to share with you a very trustworthy group of Christians that have come together to help the Haitian churches. Much money will be given to help provide medical supplies and rebuild government buildings but who will help rebuild the churches? Once the country has been rebuilt who will help the hurting souls? That is the mission of Churcheshelpingchurches.com to help the churches. Shouldn't we focus on helping our brothers and sisters in Christ in Haiti so they can minister to those in the most need during this difficult time... those with lost souls?

Please go to the site and check out what churcheshelpingchurches is doing. I am a member at Harvest Bible Chapel and know that James McDonald and this group are doing this in the name of Jesus.
