What this blog is about:

My journey to making Jesus my Pearl; turning away from the thinking of this world and finding my identity and joy in Christ alone.

Matthew 13:44-46

"The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field."

"Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it."

Hypocrites and fakes

I've been reminded this week of how many people in the world are disgusted with Christianity. People are watching us and they see when Christians lives are not different than theirs.
Sadly there are a lot of fake Christians; People who claim the name of Christ yet their lives don't bring Him honor. People are looking for reasons to not believe in Christ and sadly we have given them reasons all too often!

When we "wear the label" of being a Christian we are wearing Christ's name. We are representing HIM. When we choose to react like the world, be selfish like the world, be disloyal like the world, unforgiving like the world - Why wouldn't they be disgusted with Christianity? Why wouldn't they think Christians are hypocrites?!

We must seek daily to live a life set apart and holy; a life that brings honor to the word "Christianity". We must be surrendered to HIM!

Lord God, forgive me for the times I have claimed Your name yet not brought You honor. May people who watch me and know me see that I am different, that Christianity is real.

  2. Thank you for this reminder. Its important! I, for one, struggle with unforgiveness in one particular area. How can we tell people we're different when we actually aren't? Thank you for speaking the truth!
